All About Us
Meat Feast Co was founded by a few British/International South Africans' mutual passion and desire for delicious, tasty meats to barbeque and eat. These meats could not easily be found - even at butcheries or shops that traditionally offer decent barbequing and meat products, like South African shops.

We already sought and produced much of our own meat and biltong and it became so popular amongst our friends and guests that a demand was placed on it for selling.

Alan Franck
Master butcher and head of production and manufacturing

There’s no escaping the passion of Alan Franck, a South African with 30 plus years’ industry experience, who is returning to the World Steak Challenge for a sixth year. He began life in the trade, working for a busy retail butchery where he trained from the age of 15 and became a qualified blockman. In 1993, Alan emigrated to Portugal where he worked with his brother-in-law in the family’s wholesale and public business. During that time, he grew his skillset and knowledge of Portuguese and South American cuts of meat, which he was responsible for sourcing. In 2013, England became his home when he and his young family moved to Kent and the butcher is now an expert in English cuts, too.
Alan regularly is approached to judge competitions due to his expertise and knowledge in this field, such as best Farmshop, best butcher, best steak challenge and best sausage competition.
